665 integrators permitted under Ayushman Bharat Sandbox

The government has permitted 665 integrators to test their technologies or products to be tested under the Ayushman Bharat sandbox. Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)- Sandbox refers to a framework that permits technologies and products testing in a contained environment.

The sandbox enables organizations to become Health Information Providers or Health Information Users and efficiently link with ABDM.

The Pilot Phase

In a reply in the Rajya Sabha, the Ministry of Health and Family welfare revealed that the government conducted the pilot phase of ABDM between August 15, 2020 and September 27, 2021.

It began with six Union territories, namely, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Ladakh, Lakshadweep and Puducherry. It implemented three registries- Health ID, Health Professional Registry, and Health Facility Registry a proof of concept.

Further, the government also launched an Android app- the ABDM Health Records App. The app will allow easy information sharing amongst stakeholders with their consent.
