The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) has launched 3 key initiatives to improve the internet infrastructure in India. Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary to the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) & Chairman, NIXI, inaugurated the initiatives. For the uninitiated, NIXI manages internet exchanges through which data is exchanged amongst ISPs, Data Centers, and Content Delivery Networks (CDNs). It also maintains the .in registry, and manages the internet protocol (IPv4/ IPv6).

IP Guru

It is an expert panel on IPv6. It will extend support to all Indian entities who are facing difficulties in adopting/ migrating to IPv6. The panel, comprising of members from the government and private organisations, will help in identifying & hiring agencies that will help end customer by providing necessary technical support. It is a join effort of DoT, & MeitY to promote IPv6.

NIXI Academy

This is a training portal to educate technical/ non-technical Indians to learn technologies like IPv6 which are not usually taught in educational institutions. The platform would help network operators and educators understand networking best practices, principles and techniques, and use Internet technologies more effectively. Technical experts will help develop the portal to provide mass training to the community. The training would also provide successful candidates with a certificate from NIXI.
